Today was an important day...my plan was to put wall paper. After reading from other blogs, I used the "pattern technique" as I didn't want to waste wallpaper. It means I did a pattern with white paper for the most difficult areas, i.e the fireplace and ...it worked. I had printed the wall paper on 80gr paper so I used glue in spray. It's really good but no error is allowed. When the paper touches the wall, you can't remove it.
the atmosphere of the room has completely changed. It looks much more realistic and cosy. I added a few rugs that I had bought in Istambul, some miniature bronze statues I found in Bangkok at the amulet market, one or two paintings and it doesn't look bad at all...

Now I need to think about how to make the curtains. I have found the fabric but I have no idea on how to make them.
I need to find some little objects too to give it life.

Well, I have added a wood stove for the winter. It is made from plastic bits and pieces. I have made two little display cabinets for the shirts and collars. The boxes are kits from Lisa Engler http://www.lisaslittlethings.com/

I then started making miniature books for the little stand I ordered from HK. It was my first experience with miniature books and I made about 30 in one night. (didn't sleep much!)
Here is the result:

I needed a mannequin for the shop. It's done. The body is made of Japanese clay which dries in the air and doesn't need baking. Now I have to think about how to make a jacket to display on the mannequin.

So this is a glimpse of the second floor. Still wondering if I look for wallpaper or not.....Sorry the picture is a bit blurred!

I have just finished the "oeil de boeuf", the round window on the roof. As I didn't have a router, I did it with polystyrene foam. I carved the foam, then covered with glue for wood, I let it dry and then painted it.
 Maybe it's a bit too dark. I have to wait for a day or two and I'll see if I have to do the ageing again....
Some furniture I ordered from Hong kong from UOL has arrived and I am very happy with it. I may adapt it to the room but the quality of the furniture is very good. Every piece is carefully protected for shipping, my order was sent the day after I had ordered it and 5 days later I got it!
The price is reasonable which , for me, was an essential criteria as I can't afford to spend much on furniture.

I guess I should put some wall paper to make it look more realistic  or wood panels? What do you think? Any suggestions?
The chimney is not attached to the wall yet to make wall papering or painting easier.
If I don't put papers on the wall I guess I'll have to "distress" the painting....
